La Vie En Rose
Ooh la la! Peggy Porshen has never looked so romantic and chic, exuding Parisian charm for their dreamy ‘La Vie en Rose’ Valentines collection! I was whisked away into the ‘city of love’ right in the heart of London and it was love at first sight the moment I laid my eyes upon the new whimsical Parisian inspired treats and enchanting display because it was everything I adore and had me dreaming of Paris through rose-coloured glasses! We visited a few days before Valentines and I couldn’t think of a more perfect place to celebrate and have a cute little day date with my fiancé.
Myself and my love, Simon decided to share two of their new cupcakes, we chose the dreamy ‘Love Heart’ cupcake which spoke the language of love in the sweetest way possible with a chocolate flavoured sponge that had a hidden raspberry jam centre, topped with swirls of raspberry buttercream and decorated with a hand painted pink sugar love heart and mini heart sprinkles. We also shared the ‘La Vie en Rose’ cupcake which was exquisite to look at decorated with delicate pink wafer roses, hearts and leaves, making it oh so romantic with a wonderfully indulgent salted caramel sponge and buttercream. Also in true Peggy’s style our hot chocolates were sprinkled with Valentines Parisian art of romantic roses and the Eiffel Tower.
Inside the parlour the shelves were stocked with an abundance of candy coloured adorable treats tied with pink satin ribbons and each with a pretty hand painted design like this ‘Love Heart’ cookie box! But my favourites were the ‘From Paris With Love’ cookie box and ‘La Vie en Rose’ cookie both of which caught my eye straight away with them being inspired by Paris and Audrey Hepburn! I was very lucky and grateful to take home both of these which were a few of my lovely Valentines/Anniversary treats from Simon! You can see some of the pretty Parisian cookies in my photos too, they came in a pastel pink window box which contained an assortment of vanilla iced cookies with hand painted designs from the magical Eiffel Tower, a Chanel inspired perfume bottle, a pink poodle, lips and a mini love heart cookie. Parisian perfection!
I was in wonderment over Peggy’s beautiful theme, the pretty pink parlours main feature for this years display was the word ‘love’ which framed the entrance and was decorated with ravishingly romantic red and pink roses and dainty sweet cherry blossom because what depicts Paris more than love and romance in the awakening of Spring! If you’re seated outside like we were you can enjoy fanciful cupcakes under the magical gaze of the parlours Eiffel Towers which were sparkling in the windows, I love that they were black and white with pops of pink from the heart shaped cookies! Peeking amongst the flowers in the windows you could also find cute poodles, hearts and perfume bottles! Every detail truly captured a Parisian fairytale romance.
La vie en rose, it is the French way of saying I am looking at the world through rose–coloured glasses and it says everything I feel.” ~ Audrey Hepburn
